Summer Internship: Promotions - Lake Erie Crushers (Avon, Oh)

The Lake Erie Crushers are members of the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball league with 12 teams throughout the Midwest. The Crushers are seeking college students, who are passionate about working in the sports industry to fill internship positions in the ticket office for the 2010 summer term.  Interns will receive an inside look at the business of baseball, gaining experience in all areas of a professional sport team’s front office, including sales, marketing, operations, media relations, promotions and merchandising.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• The coordination of all game-day sponsor promotional elements, including P.A. reads, in-between inning contests, giveaways, concourse displays, pre-game ceremonies, first pitches and National Anthem
• Preparation of game-day scripts
• The set-up of all game day promotional props and prizes
• Help plan and execute special game day entertainment and activities including theme nights, bands, etc.
• Working in cooperation with the sales and media relations department to communicate upcoming promotions and increase attendance.
• Coordinate and attend player and mascot appearances in the community.

Qualifications:
• Candidates must be reliable, detail oriented, able to problem solve, able to multi-task efficiently, have solid communication skill and writing ability, a strong work ethic, stellar customer service skills and a team work mentality.
• Efficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook is required
• Candidates in their junior or senior year of college will be given preference
• This is a full-time, seasonal position. Interns must be able to work weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and all game days until the conclusion of the game.
• The internship starts May 1 and concludes at the end of the season in early September.

Compensation:
• $500 per month plus commission on season tickets and packages sold; or
• College credit
• Housing is not provided.
