Summer Internship: Concessions - Lake Erie Crushers (Avon, Oh)
The Lake Erie Crushers are members of the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball league with 12 teams throughout the Midwest. The Crushers are seeking college students, who are passionate about working in the sports industry to fill an internship position in concessions for the 2010 summer term. Interns will work directly with the Director of Concessions, learning all aspects of food services at a professional sports venue. Interns will also get an inside look at the business of baseball, gaining experience in all areas of a professional sport team’s front office operations, including ticketing, sales, marketing, media relations, promotions and merchandise.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with recruiting, scheduling and managing of game day employees.
• Assist with the food preparation and set up for concession stands.
• Help coordinate and service group outings and picnic.
• Assist with inventory control
Qualifications:
•Candidates must be reliable, detailed oriented, able to problem solve, able to efficiently multi-task, have solid communication skill and writing ability, a strong work ethic, stellar customer service skills and a team work mentality.
• Efficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook is required.
• Candidates in their junior or senior year of college will be given preference.
• This is a full-time, seasonal position. Interns must be able to work weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. and all game days until the conclusion of the game.
• The internship starts May 1 and concludes at the end of the season.
Compensation:
• $500 per month plus commission on season tickets and packages sold; or
• College credit
• Housing is not provided.
