Internship: Ticket Operations - Lake Erie Crushers (Avon, OH)
The Lake Erie Crushers are members of the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball league with 12 teams throughout the Midwest. The Crushers are seeking college students, who are passionate about working in the sports industry to fill an internship position in ticket operations for the 2010 summer term. Interns will get an inside look at the business of baseball, gaining experience in all areas of a professional sport team’s ticket office. The intern will also gain exposure to other areas of the front office, including operations, sales, marketing, media relations, promotions and merchandising.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Selling tickets to walk-up fans at the ticket office window.
• Processing single game and group orders.
• Handling phone orders and will call requests.
• Troubleshooting seating problems.
• Database management.
• Organize and execute bulk mailings.
• Assist the Box Office Manager with the supervision of game day box office staff.
• Help the Box Office Manager generate tracking reports on attendance and ticket/voucher redemption, group sales, etc.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Candidates must be reliable, detail oriented, able to problem solve and multi-task efficiently, have solid communication and writing skills, a strong work ethic, stellar customer service skills and a team work mentality.
• Efficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook is required; experience with ticketing software preferred.
• Candidates in their junior or senior year of college will be given preference.
• This is a full-time, seasonal position. Interns must be able to work weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and all game days until the conclusion of the game.
• The internship starts May 1 and concludes at the end of the season in early September.
Compensation:
• $500 per month plus commission on season tickets and packages sold; or
• College credit
• Housing is not provided.
