Assistant Director of Stadium Operations Internship 2017 - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of an Assistant  Director of Stadium Operations. This position will report directly to the Director of Stadium Operations and will be responsible for the following:

 Seasonal Job April 1 to November 1.

Field Maintenance

  • Mowing
  • Edging
  • Mound and Plate Rebuilds
  • Assist in fertilization and major projects
  • General upkeep
  • Equipment Maintenance and upkeep
  • Organization of all grounds areas
  • Water

Stadium Maintenance

  • Responsible for cleanliness of stadium at all times including post-game
  • Inspecting the ballpark on a daily basis for wear and tear
  • Maintain inside grass
  • Ordering and inventory of janitorial supplies
  • Signage and tent maintenance
  • Continual upkeep on restrooms, concourse, and concession areas
  • Staying in communication with city officials on ballpark water, electric, etc.
  • Working with sponsorship department on signage changes in a timely manner
  • Clubhouse upkeep and maintenance

Extra Events

  • Procure extra events for T.R. Hughes Ballpark
  • Oversee events (including weekends)
  • Maintain working calendar with front office staff and city

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a baseball stadium
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work with your hands is a MUST
  • Ability to work nights and weekends according to TR Hughes Ballpark schedule
  • Ability to communicate in an effective manor
  • Ability to build and foster relationships that will lead to sales of extra events at TR Hughes Ballpark
  • Willingness to take and follow directions
  • Ability to guide and direct a small staff of seasonal employees
  • A desire to take pride in your stadium and make it the best in the Frontier League

Marketing/Communications Intern (Summer 2017) - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

Description:         

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are seeking enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to serve as Rascals Marketing/Communications Interns. Marketing/Communications Interns are responsible for representing the Rascals in a positive way at community appearances and during games in order to increase brand awareness. In addition, they will be involved with grassroots marketing initiatives to promote and recruit fans to attend River City Rascals games. Successful candidates will gain sales and marketing experience serving as the voice of the team at their respective event(s).

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the planning and execution of promotional theme nights, community programs and other events held at CarShield Field.

• Attend community events (including set up and tear down of display booths), hand out promotional materials, data collection, and escort mascot at appearances.

• Promote River City Rascals ticket packages by displaying and distributing marketing materials.

• Engage fans during games through t-shirt toss, Kids Club activity area, and on-field promotions.

• Attend weekly check in meeting with Director of Fan Engagement.

• Other duties as assigned.

 
Qualifications:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a clean driving record.

• Must be outgoing with a positive attitude.

• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

• Passionate about the River City Rascals and the sport of baseball.

• Responsible, dependable, creative, and has the ability to work independently.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Experience with social media channels preferred (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat)

• Marketing/promotions/sales experience is a plus.

Description:         

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are seeking enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to serve as Ruffy, the official mascot of the River City Rascals. The mascot for the Rascals is responsible for representing the Rascals in a positive way at community appearances and during games in order to increase brand awareness. 


Responsibilities:

• Attend events and games as the mascot, maintain the care and cleaning of Ruffy

• Uphold River City Rascals standards by being engaging, friendly, and energetic.

• Interact fans during games through t-shirt toss, on-field skits, leading fan cheers and pumping up the crowd.

• Attend weekly check in meeting with Director of Fan Engagement.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a clean driving record.

• Outgoing and positive attitude with the ability to think quickly and react appropriately.

• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

• Passionate about the River City Rascals and the sport of baseball.

• Able to communicate well non-verbally.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and have physical ability to be active in suit.

• High school graduate with some college preferred.

The positions available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program.

Stadium Operations interns will work directly with the Director of Stadium Operations and Assisant Director of Stadium Operations.

Responsibilities:
• Creating and maintaining a clean, safe and fun ballpark for all fans
• Assisting in inventory controls and purchasing to ensure that the facility is adequately stocked for all events
• Assisting in all facets of preventative maintenance for the ballpark
• Additional duties assigned by Director of Stadium Operations
• Insuring that facility is prepared to accommodate group outings each night
• Be available for community appearances

Team Store Management/Merchandising Intern - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of a Retail Management/Merchandising Intern for the 2017 season. This position will run from May through September, and be responsible for the overall management and ordering for the River City Rascals Team Store. This position will give the candidate an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports as well as the retail management and merchandising industries.

 Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of apparel and merchandise ordering for the Rascals Team Store
- Develop a merchandising and organizational plan for the Team Store to maximize revenue
- Take responsibility and ownership of the overall cleanliness and presentation of the Rascals Team Store
- Work directly with the Assistant GM and the Business Manager on ordering, pricing, and stocking
- Participate in scheduling and coordinating merchandise deliveries, working directly with our Business Manager
- Manage the team shop during some Rascals home games; balance/close out registers and complete nightly game reports
- Properly stock the team shop so that it is ready before the gates open each night
- Field phone calls & answer everyday questions
- Assist with Rascals promotions, theme nights, mascot and community appearances, tarp duties, and other aspects of the Rascals overall season preparation and execution as needed

Ticket Sales Intern - Summer 2017 - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are currently seeking Ticket Sales Interns for the 2017 season. This position will run from May through September and will be an integral part of the Rascals ticket sales department during the 2017 season.  This position will give the candidate an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports and to garner more responsibility than the normal summer internship.

Responsibilities 

·         Administer superior customer service through the box office windows and phone lines.

·         Assist ticket sales staff members with sales responsibilities including sales calls, processing ticket
          orders, coordinating group events and birthdays.

·         Utilize TicketReturn and other resources in the creation of lead lists for new business prospecting.

·         Gain experience in making sales calls from generated lead lists.

·         Help to create and maintain a ticket sales database.

·         Represent the Rascals organization during community appearances and extra events at the stadium,
          including performing as the mascot.

·         Assist with Kids Club/Senior Sluggers/Reading programs for the 2017 season.

·         Take lead on a Rascals promotional theme night and assist with creatively developing new ways to
          boost attendance.

·         Manage a box office window during games and office hours.

·         Balance nightly game day ticket revenue.

·         Assist with all aspects of the Rascals overall season preparation and execution as needed.


Qualifications
