Community Relations & Fan Engagement Internship 2018 - The Normal CornBelters (Normal, Il)

Summary
The Normal CornBelters Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are seeking Community Relations & Fan Engagement Interns for the 2017-2018 season. Positions are available starting in August and may continue through the 2018 season.


 

2017-2018 Internship Roles


Community Relations: Assist with the planning and execution of community programs and events (including set-up and tear-down of display booths), hand out promotional materials, data collection, and mascot appearances.
Street Team: Promote the CornBelters by distributing marketing materials.
Fun Crew: (Game Days) Engage fans during games through t-shirt tosses, the kids corner activity area, and on-field promotions.

Duties and Responsibilities
-Assist with the planning and execution of team and community events while serving as a representative of the CornBelters.
-Participate as a team member through meetings and offer support to other team members to maximize customer service, retention efforts, and sales performance.
-Interact with other CornBelters departments to provide a cooperative, client-oriented focus for all fan engagement and ticket sales related operations.
-Identify sales opportunities through networking and outreach within the local market.
-Distribute team marketing and sales materials.
-Prepare accurate weekly reports and analysis for executive team management; be able to communicate details about upcoming events and opportunities within the community. Perform game/event requirements and other projects as requested.


Competencies and Qualifications
-Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
-Self-starter who is motivated to build new programs and exceed expectations.
-Superior customer service skills that showcase a positive and enthusiastic approach to customers so as to convey a positive image and respond to clients in a timely manner.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
-Night and weekend work required, including working special events.

Compensation
-This is an unpaid position. Internships are eligible for college credit, as well as future placement in part-time and full-time positions with the CornBelters.

Sales & Marketing: Corporate Sponsorship Sales
Corporate Sales Internship - Normal CornBelters (Normal, IL)

Summary

The Normal CornBelters Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are seeking Corporate Sales Interns for the 2017-2018 season. Positions are available starting in August and may continue through the 2018 season.

2017-2018 Internship Roles


Corporate Sales: This position will report directly to the General Manager and VP of Sales. The Corporate Sales Intern is responsible for assisting the Corporate Sales department with various client projects and support. This internship will allow the applicant to gain valuable work experience within a professional baseball organization. 

Duties and Responsibilities
-Assist with creation of proof of performance documentation for clients including photographing signage, community programs, promotional events, on-field presentations, scoreboard messages, etc. at the discretion of the General Manager
-Assist in game day logistical set-up and event set-up such as mascot appearances, community events, clinics, etc.
-Support front office Corporate Sales Reps with sales recaps that include all aspects of sponsorship for renewals and proof of performance.
-Ensure excellent client experience at games and off-site events.
-Assist in general office work including filing, copying, mailing, data entry, contract routing.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
-Booking radio, television and other interviews/speaking engagements for the Team President and General Manager.
 

Competencies and Qualifications
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and other social media platforms. Photoshop is a plus!
-Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
-Self-motivated and outgoing person with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Candidates must be enthusiastic with a strong work ethic and desire to work in sports.
-Ability to work flexible hour including nights, weekends and holidays.
 

Compensation
-This is an unpaid position. Internships are eligible for college credit, as well as future placement in part-time and full-time positions with the CornBelters.

Summary
The Normal CornBelters Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are seeking Graphic Design Interns for the 2017-2018 season. Roles will be assigned based on the individual's experience and ability following an interview process to determine the best fit within the organization.

2017-2018 Internship Roles


Graphic Design: Assist in the creation of digital and print collateral in support of the organization's marketing and communications plans.
Video Production: Produce informational and advertising related spots in conjunction with team marketing campaigns.
Photography: Develop your personal portfolio by taking photos at games, team and community events to be used within team marketing plans.

Duties and Responsibilities
-Assist in the execution of print material.
-Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts.
-Create visual aspects of marketing materials, websites and other media, including infographics.

Competencies and Qualifications
-Comfortable working in wide range of media utilizing Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and video editing software.
-Demonstrable graphic design skills with a portfolio showcasing graphic design experience.
-Self-starter who is motivated to build new programs and exceed expectations with excellent communication skills.
-Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc).
-Night and weekend work required, including working special events.

Digital & Social Media: Assist with the creation, management, and execution of social media and newsletter campaigns.

Duties and Responsibilities
-Ability to write and present business proposals to prospective clients.
-Assess and research market competition in order to develop accurate and influential marketing plans.
-Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities including content development and management.
-Ensure an effective and professional image to customers and present an accurate portrayal of business strategies across all social media platforms.
-Analyze the effectiveness of online campaigns by collecting data and producing reports.
-Identify sales opportunities through networking and outreach within the local market.

Competencies and Qualifications
-Excellent organizational skills and a self-starter with a creative mind.
-Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).

Sales Internship 2018 - The Normal CornBelters (Normal, Il)

Summary

The Normal CornBelters Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are seeking Sales Interns for the 2017-2018 season. Roles will be assigned based on the individual's experience and ability following an interview process to determine the best fit within the organization.

2017-2018 Internship Roles

  • Group Sales - Assist with the prospecting, planning, and execution of group nights.
  • Corporate Sales - Develop new business opportunities with an emphasis on corporate and business sector prospects.
  • Sponsorship Support - Assist in the execution of corporate partnership contracts.
  • Box Office (Spring/Summer 2018) - Provide support within the CornBelters Box Office.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide reporting information by maintaining and being able to produce on a regular basis accurate reports of call volume, sales and account maintenance.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of season and corporate ticket holder events, benefits, information sessions, renewal campaigns, and call campaigns.
  • Participate as a team member through meetings and offer support to other team members to maximize customer service, retention efforts, and sales performance.
  • Oversee execution of the client amenities and services to optimize client experience, satisfaction, maximize sales profitability and enhance retention efforts.
  • Interact with other Normal CornBelters departments to provide a cooperative, client-oriented focus for all ticket related operations.
  • Identify sales opportunities through networking and outreach within the local market.
