The Normal Cornbelters, a professional baseball team in the Frontier League is looking for a Food and Beverage Intern(s).    The intern will work directly for the Food and Beverage Director for the Normal Cornbelters 2017 home games and other events at the "Corn Crib"  Duties include, but not limited to, all aspects of food and beverage operation including, inventory, placing orders, vendor relations,  stocking stands, some accounting, cleaning, food safety and scheduling.  

Intern will also have the ability to work with the front office staff to ensure a great fan exerience.  

Expectations, Duties and Skills:

  • Experience in Food and Beverage preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety preferred.
  • Abilty to multi task and be punctual.
  • Must be willing to work long hours, weekends and Holdiays.
  • Good time managment skills.  
  • Computer skills a plus.  
  • Must have an interest in Food and Beverage or Sports.  

This is an unpaid internship.

Marketing/Public Relations Internship

The Normal CornBelters are looking for highly motivated individuals to contribute to the marketing of The Corn Crib, as well as being exposed to the overall operations of a professional sports organization.

This is an unpaid position, and the individuals selected must require an internship for college credit.  As a member of the CornBelters Marketing/PR Staff, this individual will primarily focus on the areas of game promotions, social media campaigns, Kids Club, Corny’s Summer Reading Program and Birthday packages.  This position is rotating, giving all candidates the ability to experience every aspect of the Normal CornBelters during office hours and game nights.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

o    Social Media Campaigning: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat.

o    Game Promotions

o    Street Team Marketing

o    Information Table on game days

o    Working Events

Effective Dates: August 1, 2016 - December 16, 2016

The Normal CornBelters are looking for highly motivated individuals to contribute to the game day operations of The Corn Crib, as well as being exposed to the overall operations of a professional sports organization.

This is an unpaid position, and the individuals selected must require an internship for college credit.  As a member of the CornBelters Stadium Operations Staff, this individual will primarily focus on the areas of fan information, promotions, merchandise store, and other game day operation areas.  This position is rotating, giving all candidates the ability to experience every aspect of the Normal CornBelters on game days.  Additional learning opportunities are provided for those who request during the season.  However, this individual will not be limited in performing other duties as assigned.  Interns are expected to work the entire 52 game schedule.

Responsibilities Include (but are are not limited to):

  • Providing unwavering customer service
  • Set-up and breakdown of The Corn Crib events
  • Assisting in day to day facility operations
  • Working with front office staff and other staff on maintaining ballpark and/or other duties associated with logistics of all facility needs.

The overall goal is to assist in the ticket sales effort, learn the ticketing system, as well as being exposed to customer service, a vital aspect of all professional sports organizations.

This is an unpaid position, and the individual selected must require an internship for college credit, however, individuals who show great work ethic and can generate sales, have a greater chance of being hired immediatly.  As a member of the CornBelters Ticket Sales Department, this individual will primarily focus on the sale and service of all ticket packages (including full season seats, partial season seats, various group outings, and individual ticket orders) via telephone, in person meetings and through grassroots efforts (non-appointment meetings, inproptu "run-ins'). Individuals will not be limited in performing other duties as assigned. All representative will earn 10% on all new business acquired.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

♦Providing unwavering customer service to clients
♦Serving as a liaison between organization and ticket purchasers
♦Assisting with numerous out of season sales events
♦Developing, and utilizing, a solid knowledge of the sales process (including cold calls)

With sports marketing zealot Mike Veeck establishing himself as an owner, there’s never been a more exciting time to join Bloomington-Normal’s premier sports team.

The Full-time position of VP of Ticket Sales is responsible for the sale and service of effective marketing and hospitality solutions for area business and residents. This individual has the opportunity to help build a department into one of the best in all of minor league sports.

The CornBelters are seeking a proven, hardworking professional looking to take the next step in his or her sales career in the sports industry. The VP of Ticket Sales will be responsible for the generation and development of ticket revenue. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with experience selling tickets and a proven track record of developing mutually beneficial and customizable ticket packages for both the team and client. Creativity, excellent writing and presentation skills and the highest level of ethical standards are required.

Job duties include but, not limited to:

·         Generate revenue through the identification and closing of tickets sales for the Normal CornBelters

·         Oversee and grow the CornBelters ticket sales efforts as it pertains to corporate and group hospitality (suites, party areas, short season packages and season tickets)

·         Maintain and manage database of ticketing clients and prospects

·         Train, manage and hire a sales staff

·         Meet or exceed weekly, monthly and yearly sales goals.

·         Participate as a member of the CornBelters management team

·         Provide outstanding customer service to CornBelters fans

·         Represent team at numerous community events throughout the year and actively assist in grassroots marketing efforts to build fan base.

Experience & Requirements

·         Bachelor’s Degree (recommended) in business, sports management, marketing or related field.

·         Minimum 5 years of successful sales management.

·         Strategic approach to individual and team goals, both short-term and long-term.

·         Excellent relationship-building skills.

·         Excellent oral communication and writing skills – must be able to craft a professional written and oral proposal.

·         Strong sense of professionalism and friendly in-person and on-phone demeanor.

·         The desire to embrace a team-first mentality in a startup environment.

·         Excellent customer service skills and professional appearance.

·         Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

·         Ability to work in fast-paced environment while juggling many tasks at once. Excellent time management is required.
