Sales & Marketing: Ticket Sales
Account Executive - Southern Illinois Miners (Marion, IL)

We are currently seeking entry level Account Executives who are highly motivated sports, sales professional with excellent interpersonal skills to sell Southern Illinois Miners Baseball Season Tickets, Partial Plans & Group Outing inventory.  

Responsibilities include maintaining and developing new business through prospecting, cold calling, face to face meetings,and vendor development.  

Sales experience & knowledge of the Southern Illinois region is a plus. 

Candidates should be aware of the time commitment and unique hours that are required to be successful as you will need to be at all Southern Illinois Miners home games as well as many external events though out the year. 

  • Make a minimum of 50 outbound sales calls daily from provided lists to individual buyers, businesses, churches, schools, and past buyers
  • Provide superior customer service to clients, existing ticket holders, prospects and inbound calls
  • Previous Ticket Sales experience strongly preferred
  • Strong work ethic
  • Eagerness to learn and develop
  • Proven ability to work as a team member
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Supports the sales departments as needed
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel, etc.)
  • College Degree preferred

Box Office Intern - Southern Illinois Miners (Marion, IL)

The Southern Illinois Miners Box Office Internship Program is a hands-on program that gives you real world experience working for a professional baseball team. The skills learned in this program can be applied to other jobs in sports operation.

What is required:

  • Must have above average communication and customer service skills.
  • Position involves extensive phone and face-to-face customer interaction.
  • Prefer individual who has knowledge of MS Office programs and is computer literate.
  • Experience with electronic ticketing system beneficial, but not required.
  • Must be organized, willing to work long hours and have a team-oriented attitude.
  • Various other game-day duties as needed such as helping with ushers, ticket takers, promotions, and operations.

Sales & Marketing: Sales & Marketing Management
Director Corporate Sales and Marketing - Southern Illinois Miners (Marion, IL)

Position Summary:  This individual will play a vital role in the success of the Southern Illinois Miner Corporate Sales and Marketing Departments.  This person will be responsible for direct sales efforts primarily focused on selling sponsorship inventory for the team.  In addition to direct sales, this person will also help coordinate various corporate sales functions.  This person will also help oversee the Miners marketing & promotions efforts as well.

 Essential Functions: 

 1.         Help generate revenue through the sale of sponsorship packages via cold calls and/or face to face contacts.

2.         Prospecting new sponsorship leads.

3.         Provide excellent customer service to new and existing clients.

4.         Fulfill and maintain an assigned, traceable minimum standard in personal sales efforts. 

5.         Coordinate the Southern Illinois Miners marketing efforts.

6.         Play a key role in designing the team’s promotional calendar.

7.         Some creative design with respect to proposals, marketing collateral, etc.

8.         Assist General Manager and COO with client service’s needs.

9.         Responsible for weekly Corporate Sales reports and maintaining team’s CRM system.

10.      Ordering of giveaway items.

11.      Ensure sponsorship fulfillment on game days to include activation, photography, etc.

12.      Assisting with development of website and social media content.

13.      Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1.         Bachelor’s degree in related field plus two years full-time directly related work experience.

2.         Two years of experience in some aspect of Sponsorship Sales and Service for a professional sports team or equivalent industry.

3.         A proven track record of sales success.

4.         Experience / knowledge of marketing successful events via traditional marketing, social media and grassroots marketing.

5.         Ability to work with aggressive sales goals and expectations in a fast-paced environment. 

6.         Proficient in Microsoft Office and associated products.  Experience in design programs a plus.

7.         Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and within a team framework.

8.         Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and achieve objectives.

9.         Strong planning and organizational skills.

10.      Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.

11.      Ability to maintain a professional business image.

12.      The ability and desire to work long hours.

Stadium Operations Intern - Southern Illinois Miners (Marion, IL)

The Stadium Operations Internship will encompass all areas of stadium operations from baseball game execution, field maintenance, office operations, event planning and execution and building maintenance; for the internship he/she will work in more of an event management capacity; will also learn about the field maintenance, building maintenance and how all areas within stadium operations contribute to the successful running of the ballpark.

For the internship, specific projects will include, but not limited to: check in and out for maintenance, tracking keys, helping with office and suite housekeeping schedule and batting practices. Inventory and maintain items used for Extra Event service issues. Also, for the internship, the intern will work with the departments within the Director of Stadium Operations, to get a full understanding of how the ballpark operates.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • The ideal candidate must be at least a college junior, senior or first year college graduate.
  • The ideal candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ideal candidate must have excellent customer service skills
  • The ideal candidate must have excellent organizational skills
  • The ideal candidate must be available full-time
