Assistant Marketing Manager (JANUARY INTERNSHIP) - Gateway Grizzlies (St. Louis, MO)

.The Gateway Grizzlies Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of a skilled and motivated Assistant Marketing Manager for the 2017 season. The position available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program. This position affords the unique opportunity to assist in the action plan for setting up a professional sports organization's season. The responsibilities of this position will run from January through the beginning of September.

Responsibilities:

This individual will work closely with the Director of Marketing and the Assistant General Manager as an assistant and direct representative of the Marketing Department to the Gateway Ticket Office, Promotions Department, and Corporate Sales Offices.

Mass Media Marketing

  • Official Social Media Manager
  • Handle survey and market research within GCS Ballpark
  • Flyers, brochures, and simple graphic creator
  • Web and host site administrative assistant
  • Corporate sales coordinator

Media Relations:

  • Team photography and video editing
  • Show and production management
  • Post-game media liaison and engineer

Qualifications:

Must be familiar with Mac and Windows programs. Preferred working understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite (ie. photoshop, illustrator, inDesign, etc.) as well as video editing software (iMovie, FinalCut, After Effects).

  • Good project management skills.
  • Motivated - self-starting attitude.
  • Sound knowledge of marketing principles.
  • Graphic design experience is required. 
  • Up-to-date knowledge of new technologies and ability of applying it to marketing principles (social media, print, web, etc)

Job Duties:              

Reconcile and maintain all financial reports (daily, monthly, etc...) with the ticket office

Hire, train, and schedule box office interns

Sell season tickets, group tickets, and suites to customers via outbound phone calls, face-to-face appointments, game day marketing, off-site networking events, and incoming inquiries

Ensuring repeat business by providing superior customer service to clients

Manage the box office on game day

Manage the cash control and box office reconciliation

Do you like to show off your crazy good dance moves? Are you outgoing? Would you like to take on the persona of a lovable dog or mischievous bird? The Joliet Slammers are looking for two very energetic individuals to become Spikes & J.L. Bird.

Marketing & Street Team Internship (Summer 2017)

Responsibilities: 

• Serve as a member of the on-field promotions team for all Joliet Slammers home games as well as at outside stadium events, including community parades, expos, fairs, etc
• Interact with fans in a friendly, professional, and fun manner at the ballpark and outside events
• Assist with mascots pre-game and in-game and at any community appearances

All Joliet Slammers internships are general education by design as each intern will have education in most departments listed below. However, each intern will be given an emphasis (listed below) to focus their individual education. Every intern will be required to present to other interns regarding their emphasis to enable a holistic learning experience. Each internship also requires at least some participation in game day activities.

The Normal CornBelters Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are currently in search of an Account Executive to fill a key role in the front office. This position will be directly responsible for selling and servicing new accounts, creating new ideas to increase ticket sales, and performing basic office functions as needed. This position will also participate in the planning and execution of CornBelters promotions, communications, and community outreach. They will play a pivotal leadership role in game day operations as well.

-Attend networking functions as a means to cultivate new business

Notes: This position will be an entry level opportunity to break into the sports industry. A great work ethic and attitude is the most important quality that will set candidates apart. During the season, we will work 70-80 hours/week. You will be required to be at all CornBelters home games, and other extra events as needed. During the off-season, you will work regular office hours 8:30am to 5:30pm, not including any community outreach programs you will be required to participate in. The 2017 season will be a tryout, and if the candidate excels then they will be given a promotion and raise.

The Normal CornBelters are seeking individuals who are highly motivated, hard working and want to build a foundation in the sports industry. The overall goal is to assist in the ticket sales effort, learn the ticketing system, as well as being exposed to customer service, a vital aspect of all professional sports organizations.

This is an unpaid position, and the individual selected must require an internship for college credit, however, individuals who show great work ethic and can generate sales, have a greater chance of being hired immediatly.  As a member of the CornBelters Ticket Sales Department, this individual will primarily focus on the sale and service of all ticket packages (including full season seats, partial season seats, various group outings, and individual ticket orders) via telephone, in person meetings and through grassroots efforts (non-appointment meetings, inproptu "run-ins'). Individuals will not be limited in performing other duties as assigned. All representative will earn 10% on all new business acquired.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

♦Serving as a liaison between organization and ticket purchasers
♦Assisting with numerous out of season sales events
♦Developing, and utilizing, a solid knowledge of the sales process (including cold calls)

Box Office Manager - Southern Illinois Miners (Marion, IL)

The Box Office Manager is a key component to a successful ticket operation. The Box Office Manager must work within the ticket department to balance season ticket holders, ticket books, groups, sponsors, Glitnir Ticketing and several daily, weekly and monthly spreadsheets. The Box Office Manager will report to the General Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating the season in Glitnir Ticketing including dates, time of games, prices and ticket packages
  • Sales to individuals and businesses of season tickets, ticket books and groups, including renewals as assigned by the General Manager
  • Keeping up-to-date on successful ticketing and sales techniques used by other teams and apply this knowledge to the business
  • Identifying, investigating, and executing strategic partnerships in the area of ticketing
  • The production of the ticket brochure and ordering of ticket stock, season tickets, will call envelopes, group envelopes, wristbands and any other materials necessary for the upcoming season
  • Hiring and managing all ticketing staff, including interns and part-time game day staff (i.e. ticket takers and ticket sellers)
  • Tracking ticket sales by promotion to help monitor successful promotions and build on them
  • Managing summer ticket interns
  • Maintaining a tape backup of the ticket sales hard drive on a nightly basis.

Required Experience:

  • The Box Office Manager should have previous ticketing experience in an established or start-up sports entity with a community-based theme. The ideal candidate would also have a strong network of contacts within the sports industry.
  • The Box Office Manager must have previous experience in working with Glitnir Ticketing

Other experience requirements include:

  • Managing of ticketing staff, both interns and part-time game day staff
