Communications/Promotions Intern- Summer 2013 - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are currently in search of Communications/Promotions Interns for summer of 2013. The positions available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program.

Responsibilities:

-Planning and execution of in-game promotions and fan interaction

-Assist in the planning and execution of community outreach events

-Assist in maintaining the Rascals social media presence through the off-season and continue growing the database

-Participate in scheduling and coordinating the team’s official mascot appearances and events and be available for these events
 

- Field phone calls & answer everyday questions
 

-Assist in making sales calls from generated leads lists

Qualifications:
• Must be comfortable in front of large crowds and personable
• Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Knowledge of basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.)
• Knowledge of social media sites and associated applications
• Must be willing and able to lift items up to 50 lbs. for set up and take down of games and events
• Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Community Relations / Marketing / Promotions Internship - Windy City ThunderBolts (Crestwood, IL)

The Windy City ThunderBolts Professional Baseball Team have internship openings for the 2013 season.

Interns will be expected to report to work in early May, 2013 and work through the conclusion of the home season. (Summer interns are paid a monthly stipend and have the potential to earn commission on sales)

Evening and weekend work will be required. All interns must have local housing available for the duration of the internship.
 

The following summer internship is available:

Community Relations / Marketing / Promotions

· Serve as liaison between team and corporate partner to ensure package components are properly serviced
· Oversee “Field of Dreams” program, including selling, scheduling, and servicing teams
· Developing, selling, and executing game promotions
· Assist in execution of in-game promotions
· Making group and advertising sales calls on behalf of the team
· Other office and ballpark support duties as necessary
