The Gateway Grizzlies Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of a Ticket & Box Office Operations Assistant for the 2017 season. The positions available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program. This individual will report in January of 2017 and will help facilitate duties throughout the season.

Responsibilities:
• Field phone calls and answer everyday questions about the Gateway Grizzlies organization
• Assist in making sales calls from generated leads lists
• Assist in the creation of leads lists to be used for sales calls
• Be available for community appearances
• Develop working knowledge of the ticketing system and CRM lists

Qualifications:

The Gateway Grizzlies Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of a Merchandise & Team Store Coordinator Intern for the 2017 season. The position available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of activities with the Grizzlies promotions department including: On field promotional items and props, Kid Zone set up & break down, pre-game giveaways, upkeep of promotional items/equipment, etc.
  • Work with Creative Department to create apparel designs & concepts
  • Help maintain web store. Includes item creation, inventory management, price adjustments, etc.
  • Receive customer orders
  • Receive customer orders via phone/ fax
  • Help stock merchandise stands and maintain inventory & sales
  • Send quote requests for promotional give-away items and negotiate pricing/ delivery
  • Help monitor inventory levels and place reorders/remove from inventory line as necessary

Stadium & Facility Operations (INTERNSHIP - 4 Positions) - Gateway Grizzlies (St. Louis, MO)

Stadium & Facility Operations Intern – Gateway Grizzlies

The Gateway Grizzlies Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of Stadium & Facility Operations Interns for the 2017 season. The positions available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program. There will be four (4) positions available under the Stadium & Facility Operations Internship program.

Stadium Operations interns will work directly with the Director of Stadium Operations to provide the highest level of customer service.

Responsibilities:
• Managing and coordinating employees within an assigned concession area
• Creating and maintaining a clean, safe and fun ballpark for all fans
• Assisting in inventory controls and purchasing to ensure that the facility is adequately stocked for all events
• Pursuing and coordinating all aspects of ballpark rentals- concerts, college games, city championships, etc.
• All facets of employee supervision, including janitorial services, in-game custodians and security
• Assisting in all facets of preventative maintenance for the ballpark
• Primary liaison between group sales department and catering department
• Insuring that facility is prepared to accommodate group outings each night
• Be available for community appearances with or as the mascot

The Lake Erie Crushers, located in Avon, OH, are looking for Food & Beverage Interns for the 2017 summer baseball season (May 2017--August 2017).The Crushers are seeking students, who are passionate about working in the Hospitality and / or Sports industry to fill internship positions in concessions for the 2017 summer term. Interns will work directly with the Director of Food & Beverage, learning all aspects of food services at a professional sports venue. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with recruiting, scheduling and managing of game day employees.
  • Assist with the food preparation and set up for concession stands.

Qualifications:

Summer Internship: Video production & photogrphy - Lake Erie Crushers (Avon, Oh)

We are looking for an intern interested in videography, video editing & photography for the 2017 season.   The position is unpaid, however academic credit is available if applicable.

Duties

  1. Shoot and edit news-style video packages of player interviews, community relations events and appearances, and other team-related events.
  2. Compile and edit footage into video highlight segments.
  3. Shoot game footage during live games and promotional events during stoppages.
  4. Archive, log, and maintain game footage for future use.
  5. Work with Team Photographer to edit photo’s for sale, web & social media distribution
  6. Generate and execute new concepts for in-game entertainment features and promotions.
  7. Capture Proof of Performance materials for end-of-season reviews
  8. Other duties as assigned in a complete and timely fashion.

Requirements

  1. General knowledge of video production equipment including camera, digital recording media, editing systems, etc.
  2. Strong organizational and communication skills.
  3. Ability to multitask and complete tasks within deadlines.

Stadium Operations Internship - Normal CornBelters (Normal, IL)

Reports to: Stadium Operations Director

Effective Dates: August 1, 2016 - December 16, 2016

The Normal CornBelters are looking for highly motivated individuals to contribute to the game day operations of The Corn Crib, as well as being exposed to the overall operations of a professional sports organization.

This is an unpaid position, and the individuals selected must require an internship for college credit.  As a member of the CornBelters Stadium Operations Staff, this individual will primarily focus on the areas of fan information, promotions, merchandise store, and other game day operation areas.  This position is rotating, giving all candidates the ability to experience every aspect of the Normal CornBelters on game days.  Additional learning opportunities are provided for those who request during the season.  However, this individual will not be limited in performing other duties as assigned.  Interns are expected to work the entire 52 game schedule.

Responsibilities Include (but are are not limited to):

  • Providing unwavering customer service
  • Set-up and breakdown of The Corn Crib events
  • Assisting in day to day facility operations
  • Working with front office staff and other staff on maintaining ballpark and/or other duties associated with logistics of all facility needs.

This is an unpaid position, and the individual selected must require an internship for college credit, however, individuals who show great work ethic and can generate sales, have a greater chance of being hired immediatly.  As a member of the CornBelters Ticket Sales Department, this individual will primarily focus on the sale and service of all ticket packages (including full season seats, partial season seats, various group outings, and individual ticket orders) via telephone, in person meetings and through grassroots efforts (non-appointment meetings, inproptu "run-ins'). Individuals will not be limited in performing other duties as assigned. All representative will earn 10% on all new business acquired.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

♦Developing, and utilizing, a solid knowledge of the sales process (including cold calls)

Your weekly hourly requirements as defined by your educational institution are considered when scheduling, however, the Normal CornBelters have the right to schedule you above and beyond those requirements. This will clearly be noted to both you and your college before internship begins.

Relocation to the Bloomington/Normal area from August 1, 2016 to December 17, 2016 is a requirement. Housing and transportation will not be provided by the organization.

Marketing Intern - Spring Internship - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

The River City Rascals are seeking reliable and dedicated individuals to serve as Marketing Interns during the Spring of 2017. Marketing Interns are responsible for representing the Rascals in a positive way at community appearances, helping plan and prepare for the 2017 season, and growing all Rascals social media outlets. In addition, they will be involved with grassroots marketing initiatives to promote and recruit fans to attend River City Rascals games. While marketing will be the focus of this position, candidates will also have the opportunity to receive a well-rounded internship by gaining sales experience through cold calls, operating the box office, sponsorship activation, stadium operations, grounds, catering and concessions, merchandising, and various other grass roots marketing efforts. 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Attend events (including set up and tear down of display booths), hand out promotional materials, data collection, and assist with mascot appearances.

• Promote River City Rascals ticket packages by displaying and distributing marketing materials as well as learn to operate Rascals box office.

• Create grass roots marketing plans to be implemented preseason as well as grow Rascals social media following.

• Attend weekly meetings with the Director of Fan Engagement.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a clean driving record.

• Positive and hard-working attitude.

• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

• Passionate about the River City Rascals and the sport of baseball.

• Responsible, dependable, creative, and has the ability to work independently.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Education and Formal Training

• High school graduate with some college preferred.

Experience

• Experience with social media channels preferred (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat)

• Marketing/promotions/sales experience is a plus.

Compensation

• This is an unpaid internship averaging 25 hours per week.  The opportunity for school credit is available.

Stadium Operations Intern Spring 2017 - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of Stadium Operations Interns for the 2017 season. The positions available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program.

Stadium Operations interns will work directly with the Director of Stadium Operations.

Responsibilities:
• Creating and maintaining a clean, safe and fun ballpark for all fans
• Assisting in inventory controls and purchasing to ensure that the facility is adequately stocked for all events
• Assisting in all facets of preventative maintenance for the ballpark
• Additional duties assigned by Director of Stadium Operations
• Insuring that facility is prepared to accommodate group outings each night
• Be available for community appearances

Production Intern - Southern Illinois Miners (Marion, IL)

The Southern Illinois Miners Production Internship Program is a hands-on program that gives you real world experience working for a professional baseball team. The skills learned in this program can be taken to many different jobs in sports and production.

Responsibilities:

  • Execution of pre-production schedule including video & audio editing, graphic design.
  • Planning and coordination of assorted events including production, direction, and securing special guests.
  • Organizing and planning game-day events as well as participating in game-day productions.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the production team.
  • Execution of in-season game time production including camera operation, audio controller video board operation, technical director, and replay operator .
     

Experience:

Stadium Operations Intern - Southern Illinois Miners (Marion, IL)

The Stadium Operations Internship will encompass all areas of stadium operations from baseball game execution, field maintenance, office operations, event planning and execution and building maintenance; for the internship he/she will work in more of an event management capacity; will also learn about the field maintenance, building maintenance and how all areas within stadium operations contribute to the successful running of the ballpark.

For the internship, specific projects will include, but not limited to: check in and out for maintenance, tracking keys, helping with office and suite housekeeping schedule and batting practices. Inventory and maintain items used for Extra Event service issues. Also, for the internship, the intern will work with the departments within the Director of Stadium Operations, to get a full understanding of how the ballpark operates.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
