Special Events Internship - Joliet Slammers (Joliet, IL)

We are seeking a Special Events Intern to join our team from January-May for an internship opportunity, with a specific emphasis on our 2017 All-Star Game planning. We're looking for a candidate that is outgoing, resourceful, and is eager to grow.  

Responsibilities: 

o    Assist with all 2017 All Star Game event logistics including staffing, operational needs, and location

o    Help schedule and conduct site visits for potential and contracted clients

o    Help maintain and complete daily event task lists

o    Assist in coordinating event plan updates

o    Support hospitality functions surrounding the 2017 All Star Game

o    Assisting in creating corporate sales inventory for special events

o    Assist with circulation of event marketing materials

Qualifications:

o    Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at accredited university

o    Must be able to earn college credit for internship

o    Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point

o    Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

o    Strong attention to detail

o    Excellent communication skills; ability to talk to unfamiliar individuals

o    Presentable and professional at all times

Stadium Operations Internship - Normal CornBelters (Normal, IL)

 Department: Stadium Operations

Reports to: Stadium Operations Director

Effective Dates: August 1, 2016 - December 16, 2016

The Normal CornBelters are looking for highly motivated individuals to contribute to the game day operations of The Corn Crib, as well as being exposed to the overall operations of a professional sports organization.

This is an unpaid position, and the individuals selected must require an internship for college credit.  As a member of the CornBelters Stadium Operations Staff, this individual will primarily focus on the areas of fan information, promotions, merchandise store, and other game day operation areas.  This position is rotating, giving all candidates the ability to experience every aspect of the Normal CornBelters on game days.  Additional learning opportunities are provided for those who request during the season.  However, this individual will not be limited in performing other duties as assigned.  Interns are expected to work the entire 52 game schedule.

Responsibilities Include (but are are not limited to):

  • Providing unwavering customer service
  • Set-up and breakdown of The Corn Crib events
  • Assisting in day to day facility operations
  • Working with front office staff and other staff on maintaining ballpark and/or other duties associated with logistics of all facility needs.

Ticket Sales Representative (Internship) - Normal CornBelters (Normal, IL)

Effective Dates: August 1, 2016 - December 17, 2016

Department: Ticket Sales

Report To: Ticket Sales Manager

The Normal CornBelters are seeking individuals who are highly motivated, hard working and want to build a foundation in the sports industry. The overall goal is to assist in the ticket sales effort, learn the ticketing system, as well as being exposed to customer service, a vital aspect of all professional sports organizations.

This is an unpaid position, and the individual selected must require an internship for college credit, however, individuals who show great work ethic and can generate sales, have a greater chance of being hired immediatly.  As a member of the CornBelters Ticket Sales Department, this individual will primarily focus on the sale and service of all ticket packages (including full season seats, partial season seats, various group outings, and individual ticket orders) via telephone, in person meetings and through grassroots efforts (non-appointment meetings, inproptu "run-ins'). Individuals will not be limited in performing other duties as assigned. All representative will earn 10% on all new business acquired.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

♦Providing unwavering customer service to clients
♦Serving as a liaison between organization and ticket purchasers
♦Assisting with numerous out of season sales events
♦Developing, and utilizing, a solid knowledge of the sales process (including cold calls)
♦Maintaining customer database and facilitating communication of marketing efforts

Stadium Operations Intern Spring 2017 - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of Stadium Operations Interns for the 2017 season. The positions available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program.

Stadium Operations interns will work directly with the Director of Stadium Operations.

Responsibilities:
• Creating and maintaining a clean, safe and fun ballpark for all fans
• Assisting in inventory controls and purchasing to ensure that the facility is adequately stocked for all events
• Assisting in all facets of preventative maintenance for the ballpark
• Additional duties assigned by Director of Stadium Operations
• Insuring that facility is prepared to accommodate group outings each night
• Be available for community appearances

Qualifications:
• Must be able to problem solve quickly, work efficiently in an intense environment
• Some heavy lifting is requited
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks
• Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
• Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
