CornBelters Promtions Team Summer Internship - Normal CornBelters (Normal, Il)

Reports To: Mike Petrini - General Manager
Effective Dates: ASAP – September 6 (Summer Semester)

Job Compensation: UNPAID / College Credit


The Normal CornBelters are seeking individuals who are highly motivated to contribute to the overall community relations and grassroot marketing efforts of a professional sports organization.

This is an unpaid internship, and the individual selected must require an internship for college credit. Housing and transportation is not provided.

As a member of the CornBelters Community Crew, this internship is focused on grassroots marketing by interacting with fans of all ages throughout the community. The Community Crew will be promoting the CornBelters around the Bloomington-Normal area and nearby townships throughout the summer. These individuals will be responsible for various marketing and promotion efforts for the CornBelters, by seeking out community events, booking & participating in mascot/player appearances. Our goal is to be at everywhere and anywhere a crowd of people may be to take pictures with our Mascot and pass out information about the CornBelters games and events.

Corporate Partnerships Servicing Intern - Normal CornBelters Professional Baseball (Normal, IL)

 Effective Dates: Current – September 15, 2014 (Summer Semester)

The Normal CornBelters are searching for someone who is highly motivated, personable and organized to contribute to the overall customer service and day to day operations of a professional sports organization.


This is a part time, unpaid position and the person selected must complete it for college credit. As a member of the Corporate Partnerships Department, this individual will primarily focus on the servicing of current accounts, organizing and control corporate sponsorship inventory, filing sales contracts and updating spread sheets. They will work closely with the General Manager. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Serving as a representative of the organization to our corporate partners
• Securing contract components such as artwork, advertisements, etc.
• Spearheading different sponsored programs at the ballpark
• Building and maintaining relationships with current clients
• Assisting in the development of CornBelters outbound marketing
• Participating in sales and community events
Completed sales, marketing or communication classes are preferred. Proficiency of basic computer applications is a necessity. Knowledge of Adobe Design products is helpful.
*Must be available to work all 2017 Home CornBelters Games*
Housing and transportation will not be provided by the organization.

Marketing/Communications Intern (Fall 2017) - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

Description:         

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are seeking enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to serve as Rascals Marketing/Communications Interns from August to December. Marketing/Communications Interns are responsible for representing the Rascals in a positive way at community appearances and during games in order to increase brand awareness. In addition, they will be involved with grassroots marketing initiatives to promote and recruit fans to attend River City Rascals games. Successful candidates will gain sales and marketing experience serving as the voice of the team at their respective event(s).

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the planning and execution of promotional theme nights, community programs and other events held at CarShield Field.

• Attend community events (including set up and tear down of display booths), hand out promotional materials, data collection, and escort mascot at appearances.

• Promote River City Rascals ticket packages by displaying and distributing marketing materials.

• Engage fans during games through t-shirt toss, Kids Club activity area, and on-field promotions.

• Attend weekly check in meeting with Director of Fan Engagement.

• Other duties as assigned.

 
Qualifications:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a clean driving record.

• Must be outgoing with a positive attitude.

• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

• Passionate about the River City Rascals and the sport of baseball.

• Responsible, dependable, creative, and has the ability to work independently.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Experience with social media channels preferred (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat)

• Marketing/promotions/sales experience is a plus.

 

Material and Equipment Used

• Tablet/iPad and other devices as assigned.


This is an unpaid internship position with the ability to earn school credit.  Fall hours would be 25/week + all Rascals home games.

Ticket Sales Intern - Fall 2017 - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are currently seeking Ticket Sales Interns for the 2017 season. This position will run from August through December and will be an integral part of the Rascals ticket sales department during the 2017 season.  This position will give the candidate an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports and to garner more responsibility than the normal internship.

Responsibilities 

·         Administer superior customer service through the box office windows and phone lines.

·         Assist ticket sales staff members with sales responsibilities including sales calls, processing ticket
          orders, coordinating group events and birthdays.

·         Utilize TicketReturn and other resources in the creation of lead lists for new business prospecting.

·         Gain experience in making sales calls from generated lead lists.

·         Help to create and maintain a ticket sales database.

·         Represent the Rascals organization during community appearances and extra events at the stadium,
          including performing as the mascot.

·         Assist with Kids Club/Senior Sluggers/Reading programs for the 2017 season.

·         Take lead on a Rascals promotional theme night and assist with creatively developing new ways to
          boost attendance.

·         Manage a box office window during games and office hours.

·         Balance nightly game day ticket revenue.

·         Assist with all aspects of the Rascals overall season preparation and execution as needed.


Qualifications

·         Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented.

·         Strong verbal and written communications skills.

·         Excellent math skills

·         Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks.

·         Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

·         Knowledge of basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

·         Must be able to problem solve quickly, work efficiently in an intense environment.

·         Must be willing and able lift items up to 50 lbs. for set up and take down of games and events.

·         Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

·         Must be able to work all home games during the 2017 season.

Stadium Operations Intern Fall 2017 - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of Stadium Operations Interns for the 2017 season. The positions available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program.

Stadium Operations interns will work directly with the Director of Stadium Operations.

Responsibilities:
• Creating and maintaining a clean, safe and fun ballpark for all fans
• Assisting in inventory controls and purchasing to ensure that the facility is adequately stocked for all events
• Assisting in all facets of preventative maintenance for the ballpark
• Additional duties assigned by Director of Stadium Operations
• Insuring that facility is prepared to accommodate group outings each night
• Be available for community appearances

Qualifications:
• Must be able to problem solve quickly, work efficiently in an intense environment
• Some heavy lifting is requited
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
