The sports info intern is responsible for updating statistics, rosters, and various websites to ensure player info and bios are up to date. In addition this person will be the liaison to the visiting broadcaster and media personnell.

Post game the sports info intern will write the game story for the morning press release.

Stadium Operations Internship - Normal CornBelters (Normal, IL)

 Department: Stadium Operations

Reports to: Stadium Operations Director

Effective Dates: August 1, 2016 - December 16, 2016

The Normal CornBelters are looking for highly motivated individuals to contribute to the game day operations of The Corn Crib, as well as being exposed to the overall operations of a professional sports organization.

This is an unpaid position, and the individuals selected must require an internship for college credit.  As a member of the CornBelters Stadium Operations Staff, this individual will primarily focus on the areas of fan information, promotions, merchandise store, and other game day operation areas.  This position is rotating, giving all candidates the ability to experience every aspect of the Normal CornBelters on game days.  Additional learning opportunities are provided for those who request during the season.  However, this individual will not be limited in performing other duties as assigned.  Interns are expected to work the entire 52 game schedule.

Responsibilities Include (but are are not limited to):

  • Providing unwavering customer service
  • Set-up and breakdown of The Corn Crib events
  • Assisting in day to day facility operations
  • Working with front office staff and other staff on maintaining ballpark and/or other duties associated with logistics of all facility needs.

Corporate Partnerships Servicing Intern - Normal CornBelters Professional Baseball (Normal, IL)

 Effective Dates: Current – September 15, 2014 (Summer Semester)

The Normal CornBelters are searching for someone who is highly motivated, personable and organized to contribute to the overall customer service and day to day operations of a professional sports organization.


This is a part time, unpaid position and the person selected must complete it for college credit. As a member of the Corporate Partnerships Department, this individual will primarily focus on the servicing of current accounts, organizing and control corporate sponsorship inventory, filing sales contracts and updating spread sheets. They will work closely with the General Manager. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Serving as a representative of the organization to our corporate partners
• Securing contract components such as artwork, advertisements, etc.
• Spearheading different sponsored programs at the ballpark
• Building and maintaining relationships with current clients
• Assisting in the development of CornBelters outbound marketing
• Participating in sales and community events
Completed sales, marketing or communication classes are preferred. Proficiency of basic computer applications is a necessity. Knowledge of Adobe Design products is helpful.
*Must be available to work all 2017 Home CornBelters Games*

Marketing/Communications Intern (Summer 2017) - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

Description:         

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are seeking enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to serve as Rascals Marketing/Communications Interns. Marketing/Communications Interns are responsible for representing the Rascals in a positive way at community appearances and during games in order to increase brand awareness. In addition, they will be involved with grassroots marketing initiatives to promote and recruit fans to attend River City Rascals games. Successful candidates will gain sales and marketing experience serving as the voice of the team at their respective event(s).

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the planning and execution of promotional theme nights, community programs and other events held at CarShield Field.

• Attend community events (including set up and tear down of display booths), hand out promotional materials, data collection, and escort mascot at appearances.

• Promote River City Rascals ticket packages by displaying and distributing marketing materials.

• Engage fans during games through t-shirt toss, Kids Club activity area, and on-field promotions.

• Attend weekly check in meeting with Director of Fan Engagement.

• Other duties as assigned.

 
Qualifications:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a clean driving record.

• Must be outgoing with a positive attitude.

• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

• Passionate about the River City Rascals and the sport of baseball.

• Responsible, dependable, creative, and has the ability to work independently.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Experience with social media channels preferred (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat)

• Marketing/promotions/sales experience is a plus.

• Tablet/iPad and other devices as assigned.


This is an unpaid internship position with the ability to earn school credit.  Summer hours would be 25/week + all Rascals home games.

Stadium Operations Intern Summer 2017 - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)

The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of Stadium Operations Interns for the 2017 season. The positions available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program.

Stadium Operations interns will work directly with the Director of Stadium Operations and Assisant Director of Stadium Operations.

Responsibilities:
• Creating and maintaining a clean, safe and fun ballpark for all fans
• Assisting in inventory controls and purchasing to ensure that the facility is adequately stocked for all events
• Assisting in all facets of preventative maintenance for the ballpark
• Additional duties assigned by Director of Stadium Operations
• Insuring that facility is prepared to accommodate group outings each night
• Be available for community appearances

The Social Media Intern is responsible for generating creative content and sharing content across the Southern Illinois Miners Social Media platforms. This individual will be trained in all of the Miners departments and policies and have the opportunity to create content and leverage existing programs online to drive traffic to southernillinoisminers.com and the ballpark. The key responsibilities of the Social Media Intern include but are not limited to:

• Manage all social media accounts for the Southern Illinois Miners

• Monitor daily content and fan engagement on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and SnapChat

• Keep fans engaged online throughout all home and road games

• Help find new fans on social media and encourage displaced Miners fans to participate in social media platforms

• Assist across all Miners entities to create content and promote existing programs across social media

• Become familiar with the Southern Illinois Miners partners to extend our reach in the community across all social channels

• Follow social media trends regionally, nationally and through the industry to keep the Southern Illinois Miners on the cutting edge of social media to promote events and create content. 

Time: Asap & Ends at the completion of the season (pending playoffs). Must be in attendance for every home game. Must be willing and available to work long hours, weekends and nights. Qualifications: • Current college student working toward degree in Marketing or Communications • Desire to learn about a career in sports • Experience utilizing Social Media outlets, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Creative problem solver and willingness to learn and express ideas • Strong customer service skills • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Washington Wild Things’ internship program is to educate its participants in all aspects of operating a professional sports organization, by observation and getting real hands-on experience. Interns learn how to work in a professional environment that requires a high energy level, the ability to perform under pressure and the utilization of essential time management skills. The Washington Wild Things strive to successfully prepare interns to compete for positions in the professional sports industry.

Wild Things Interns:

We are currently looking for full-time in a variety of departments. Full-time interns will be expected to work the same hours as the front office staff, including office hours, game nights and weekends. At least 40 hours a week is expected. Interns will be assigned to a specific department  but will be able to help as need in others:

Requirements:
